Dorothy Thompson is the owner of Omaha Pastry and has over 22 years of experience creating unique Wedding and Specialty cakes. We specialize in creating cakes for any of your event needs. All cakes and fillings are made from scratch. We use the finest imported chocolate, fresh butter and cream, and high quality fruit.
At Omaha Pastry you can design your own cake. We offer a unique variety of flavors and fillings, which you can mix and match according to your taste. We use European Buttercream on all of our cakes. This is lighter and smoother than regular buttercream, and enhances the flavors of the cake. We also use fondant on request and if the design dictates. We make our Fondant from scratch, which produces a softer Fondant that does not have a dry coating when it sets up. When Fondant is used in combination with European Buttercream, the results are a beautiful cake covering that tastes great too. Buttercream and Fondant may be flavored to your taste.
If you are looking for a groom’s cake that is out of the ordinary, you’ll find that our designs will fit your needs, or inspire you to create your own design. Along with any flavor of your choice, the groom’s cake can be as fun and creative as you are. We have made sculpted cakes ranging from a tuxedo and top hat, to a playstation controller and a car.
Make an appointment to see our photo albums showing the various cakes we have done. We welcome your ideas and pictures that you may have. We will also have a variety of samples of cake for you to taste.
We suggest that you order your cake as far in advance as possible. Wedding cakes, three months or more ahead of time. Specialty cakes, two weeks to a month in advance. Cakes are priced according to the design and worked involved to create each cake. We will be able to give you an accurate price for your cake at your consultation. We serve Omaha and the surrounding area, including Lincoln and Fremont.
